We know it takes all sorts to be a successful entrepreneur but look for a few key attributes in the people we back: vision - entrepreneurs must be able to see the end game and persuade others of its possibility; energy - entrepreneurs must have lots of this; ownership - entrepreneurs must feel possessive about their businesses and have a big stake in their success.

We back world class technology. We look for companies with a technological edge and world class intellectual property.

We back small companies that have the potential to become big companies. To do this they need to be solving major problems in large markets.

We back early stage companies that are moving from technology to product, and growth stage companies that are looking to accelerate from initial sales. We will continue to support our companies through multiple investment rounds.

We are focused on companies commercialising technology in a few specific areas: energy/resources technology; nano/materials technology; medical technology.

We are focused on the UK, but can invest elsewhere so long as we are happy that someone in our close network is able to engage with the company locally.
